The YMPE is a value set by the federal government each year that we use to calculate your pension contributions and benefits.


Each year, the federal government sets the year’s maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE). This is the maximum salary on which you need to make contributions to the Canada Pension Plan. We use the YMPE in our formula to calculate your contributions and pension benefits.
