How to buy service

Learn how to estimate the cost to buy service and the steps you need to take if you want to buy back service for an approved leave.

The cost to buy service for an approved leave is calculated by multiplying the length of your leave by the employee and employer contribution rates and your full-time equivalent salary when you apply.

WorkSafeBC will pay the employer portion on your behalf for all eligible leaves.
