Pension adjustments and RRSP contribution limits

Your pension adjustment is calculated using a formula determined by the federal government and represents the value of the pension benefit earned in your pension plan for a given year. It does not reflect the amount you contributed to the plan.

CRA considers your pension adjustment when calculating your RRSP room for the next tax year.

You can find the value of your RRSP contribution room for the current year on the CRA notice of assessment you receive after you file your income tax.
