Who you can name as a beneficiary

Learn who you can name as a beneficiary to receive your pension benefit when you die.

Naming beneficiaries in your will

You can outline your wishes for your pension benefit in your will. When you name beneficiaries, the plan will pay the benefit directly to your beneficiaries.

Within your will, you must:

  • Name the WorkSafeBC Pension Plan
  • Specify how you want your pension benefit divided
  • List your beneficiaries and alternate beneficiaries, and the percentage of the pension benefit allocated to each

If you have more than one beneficiary, you can choose to give a different percentage to each, but the total must add up to 100 per cent.
